There are two ways you could look at this. If we got rid of all viruses, then less people would die. This is obviously a good thing as so many families are devastated by virus related deaths every year. However, all these extra people could lead to surplus population which, as history has shown, leads to drought, famine, and the eventual down fall of the empire/nation/etc
