If sin 0(theta)=2/3 and tan 0(theta)<0. What is the value of cos 0(theta)
BigorU [14]

Answer:

cos Ф = adj / hyp = √5 / 3

Step-by-step explanation:

If sin Ф is +, then Ф must be in either Quadrant 1 or Quadrant 2.

If tan Ф < 0, then Ф must be in either Quadrant 2 or Quadrant 3.

So we conclude that Ф is in Quadrant 2.

If sin Ф = opp / hyp = 2/3, then opp = 2 and hyp = 3, and adj is found using the Pythagorean Theorem:

adj = √( 3² - 2² ) = √( 5 )

With adj = √5 and hyp = 3, cos Ф = adj / hyp = √5 / 3

Let a,b & c be the number of cookies Adrian, Bobby and Calvin baked respectively.

(a+b+c)/3 =138

(a+b)/2 =136

a+b=272

a=272-b

(b+c)/2 =125

b+c=250

c=250-b

Sub a=272-b and c=250-b into (a+b+c)/3 =138,

(a+b+c)/3 =138

[(272-b)+b+(250-b)]/3 = 138

272-b+b+250-b = 414

-b = -108

b=108

From the above,

a=272-b

=272-108

a=164

c=250-b

=250-108

c=142

∵ a=164

b=108

c=142

∴ Adrian baked 164 cookies.

Bobby baked 108 cookies.

Calvin baked 142 cookies.

FIND THE NUMERICAL VALUES OF THE FACTORS USING LINEAR INTERPOLATION F/P, 23%, 34
kolbaska11 [484]

The factor of the expression using linear interpolation is 1139.66

What is linear interpolation?

The linear interpolation is the used to estimate the value of a function between any two known values.

The linear interpolation is given as:

F/P, 23%, 34

The factor is then calculated as:

Factor = (1 + 23\%)^{34}

Express 23% as decimal

Factor = (1 + 0.23)^{34}

Take the sum of 1 and 0.23

Factor = (1.23)^{34}

Evaluate the exponent

Factor = 1139.66

Hence, the factor of the expression using linear interpolation is 1139.66
