Lamarck's theory states that characteristics acquired in an organism's lifetime can be passed on to any of its offspring. For example, if an individual works out and gains a more fit and bulkier appearance, then by default that individual's offspring will inherit a fit and bulkier appearance regardless if they work out or not. Darwin's Theory of natural selection accounts for survival and reproduction of an organism, based on their phenotype and genotype compared to their environment to increase or decrease the survival and reproduction of that organism. There is more support for natural selection, because we can see, we clearly do not inherit traits such as hair length, accents, etc from our parents.

Mendel also wondered if the inheritance of one trait affected the inheritance
svet-max [94.6K]

Answer:

A. dihybrid crosses

Explanation:

A dihybrid cross can be defined as a mating experiment between two lines/varieties/organisms that differ in two phenotypic traits. By using pea plants, Mendel performed dihybrid crosses in order to analyze the mode of inheritance of both phenotypic traits at the same time. From these mating experiments, Mendel observed that the inheritance factors (nowadays called genes) sorted independently from one another in the next generation, which is called the principle/law of Independent Assortment.

Discuss two benefits of multicellular organisms having some specialized cells rather than all the cells being the same.
Zigmanuir [339]

Answer and explanation;

-There are advantages to being multicellular rather than unicellular. These include; allowing the organism to be larger, allowing cell differentiation (having different types of cells with different functions) , and also allowing the organisms to be more complex.

-Complex organisms often have specialized cells that carry out different functions. Having specialized cells and systems allows the process such as transport of nutrients and waste to and from all the cells of the body to occur.
