Main causing factors which are involved in cardiovascular disease are smoking, hypertension (high blood pressure), diabetes, high cholesterol, obese or overweight and lack of exercise or inactivity.
On other hand, stop smoking, regular exercise, balanced diet and weight maintenance will contribute to prevent from heart disease.
