The way I do it is I find the slope and use the formula y-y1=m(x-x1) plug in m for the slope and y1 for 21 and x1 for 5 then solve to get the y intercept

Hey!
So to get the b value you would have to plug in the points and solve for b.
21 = 5(5) + b
21 = 25 + b
21 - 25 = b
b = -4

to check you could use the other point
-29 = 5(-5) + b
-29 = -25 + b
-29 + 25 = b
b = -4

Both of them have b equal -4
so y = 5x - 4

Hope this helps!

Water hose has filled up 1/7 of a pool after 1/10 of an hour at this rate how many hours will it take to fill the pool
expeople1 [14]

Given that

time required to filled 1/7 of pool = 1/10

so time required to fill 1 pool = 1/10 ÷ 1/7 = 1/10 × 7 = 7/10 hrs

So 0.7 hrs will require to fill the pool at given rate

There is 1 red gumdrop and 4 green gumdrops in a small jar. Also, 2 pieces of butterscotch candy and 3 pieces of cinnamon
victus00 [196]

Answer:

The probability that he will get a red gumdrop and a piece of butterscotch candy is 2/25

Step-by-step explanation:

The path to find the answer is to find the probability of both things happening and then multiply them. First, there is 1 red gumdrop and 4 green gumdrops in a jar. There are 5 gumdrops total so the probability of choosing a red one is 1/5. Next, there are 2 pieces of butterscotch candy and 3 pieces of cinnamon candy in another jar. There are 5 pieces of candy total so the probability of choosing a piece of butterscotch candy is 2/5. Finally multiply the two probabilities: 1/5 * 2/5 = 2/25.
