You perform an ELISA to test hospital soap samples for contamination with Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Other than the different molec

ule of interest, this ELISA works exactly like the one you saw in the video. You run the soap sample, a negative control, and a positive control, all in duplicate. How would you interpret the following results?a) The soap is POSITIVE for the Pseudomonas aeruginosa antigenb) You cannot interpret the soap data, because the POSITIVE control didn’t work.c) The soap is NEGATIVE for the Pseudomonas aeruginosa antigen.d) You cannot interpret the soap data, because the NEGATIVE control didn’t work.

Answer:

D) You cannot interpret the soap data, because the negative control didn't work.

Explanation:

ELISA or enzyme-linked immunosorbent essay is a technique used for the detection and quantification of proteins, enzymes, hormones and antibodies in a sample which is performed on the ELISA plate.

Here the in the above scenario there are 8 wells in which sample (soap), negative and positive control are performed in duplicate.

At the result the negative control in one well, it is negative but in other well it is positive which shows that the test in invalid. And we cannot interpret on the basis of these test results because for our test validity both negative control samples should be negative.

The correct answer is c. a variety of nutrient molecules are readiy available as dissolved solutes.

Explanation:

There are several molecules that act as nutrients, that can dissolve in water. Mostly inorganic compounds like salts can dissolve in water, resulting in ions that can go through the membrane easier. The temperature of living things actually is more stable because of the water in them.

7) How many alleles will a gamete have for any one gene?
pantera1 [17]

Answer:

Explanation:

Each trait of an organism is determined by discrete units called genes and individuals carry two alleles for each gene. (Mendel didn't actually discover genes though). Each gamete of an individual carries only one allele of each gene (this is Mendel's Law of Segregation).

Which step in the Gram stain is the critical step in differentiating Gram negative cells from Gram positive cells?
rewona [7]

Answer:

The rapid decolorization with ethanol or acetone

and counterstaining with safranin

When a decolorizer such as alcohol or acetone is added, it interacts with the lipids of the cell membrane. A gram-negative cell loses its outer lipopolysaccharide membrane, and the inner peptidoglycan layer is left exposed: when safranin is added they will turn red. Conversely, gram-positives retain the Cristal violet and will color in purple
