Rolff recently completed a book of 20 deduction puzzles. the scatterplot below shows the time it took rolff to solve a puzzle ve

rsus the number of clues it had. if a puzzle is selected at random from the book, what is the probability that it had fewer than six clues, took rolff fewer than 100 seconds to solve, or both?

I have the scatterplot in front of me, and what the question is asking is what is the probability of the dot chosen being in any of the three categories. They only leave out three dots, so the probability is 17/20 or 85%.

Answer:

C

Step-by-step explanation:

Calculate AC using Pythagoras' identity in ΔABC

AC² = 20² - 12² = 400 - 144 = 256, hence

AC = \sqrt{256} = 16

Now find AD² from ΔACD and ΔABD

ΔACD → AD² = 16² - (20 - x)² = 256 - 400 + 40x - x²

ΔABD → AD² = 12² - x² = 144 - x²

Equate both equations for AD², hence

256 - 400 + 40x - x² = 144 - x²

-144 + 40x - x² = 144 - x² ( add x² to both sides )

- 144 + 40x = 144 ( add 144 to both sides )

40x = 288 ( divide both sides by 40 )

x = 7.2 → C

Find the 120th term, given the first term and the common difference.
a =52 and d=12
1
Sliva [168]
The first term is 52, the second term is 52+(1*12), the third term is 52+(2*12), the fourth term is 52+(3*12)... the 120th term is 52+((120-1)*12)
Therefore the 120 term is: 1480

Answer:

To convert the measurements of metric system into another units of metric system we have to either multiply it by 10, 100, 1000, 10000, 100000, etc or divide by 10, 100, 1000, 10000, 100000, etc.

If we have to convert bigger unit into smaller unit then we have to multiply the unit by the multiples of 10, then the decimal point is shifted to right by 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 , etc. places.

For example, 1.2 kg is converted into g so we have to multiply it by 1000, so decimal point is shifted to right by 3 places, i.e.,

1.2 x 1000 = 1200 g

If we have to convert smaller unit into bigger unit then we have to divide the unit by the multiples of 10, then the decimal point is shifted to left by 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 , etc. places.

For example, 12 cm is converted into m so we have to divide it by 100, so decimal point is shifted to left by 2 places, i.e.,

12 / 100 = 0.12 m
