What force do the brakes exert on the cart?

Physics

Newton's second law of motion:

                       Force  =  (mass)  x  (acceleration)

                                   =  (100 kg)  x  (-5 m/s²)

                                   =          -500 Newtons .

I made the acceleration negative because the cart is slowing down.
The force came out negative because it's in the direction opposite
to the cart's motion.

A skydiver will reach a terminal velocity when the air drag equals their weight. For a skydiver with high speed and a large body
Andrej [43]

Answer with Explanation:

It is given that

1) Force of Drag F_{D}=\frac{1}{2}\rho Av^{2}

2) Weight W=mg

Equating drag and weight we get

F_{D}=W\\\\\frac{1}{2}\rho Av^{2}=mg\\\\v^{2}=\frac{2mg}{\rho A}\\\\\therefore v=\sqrt{\frac{2mg}{\rho _{air}A}}

where,

'm' is mass of the object

'g' is acceleration due to gravity

'A' is the area of the person

\rho _{air} is the density of air

Approximating the weight of a man to be 75 kg and area of man 0.8m^{2}

Applying the values in the  formula we get

v=\sqrt{\frac{2\times 75\times 9.81}{1.225\times 0.8}}

\therefore v=38.75m/s

What effect does the distance between Earth and the Sun have on Earth’s seasons?
antiseptic1488 [7]

Answer:

So actually, it is not so much the distance at a particular time that affects the seasons. It is a common misconception. It is in-fact the earths tilt. When we rotate around the sun, due to our tilt, the North and South of earth have different seasons. This is because when light is shining on to earth, because of Earths tilt, on one half the light shines more directly and on the other it scatters thus the different temperatures, causing season. Hope this helps.

Answer:

d. boost frequencies below 80 Hz.

Explanation:

Low frequency sound appear to be soothing to mind. It is called bass . bass instruments play low frequency notes. But to produce low frequency note , the size of musical instruments have to be increased which increases its cost.

Any instrument which boosts low frequency are therefore costly .  They are accompanied by air amplifier.

What three categories can every living thing in a forest ecosystem be sorted into
juin [17]

Answer:

Producers

Consumers

Decomposers

Explanation:

The three categories in which every living thing in a forest ecosystem can be sorted into are producers, consumers and decomposers.

The producers as the name implies manufactures food for the whole of the ecosystem. They take inorganic materials from the environment and convert them into useful food materials. All plants are producers and some micro-organisms.

Animals are consumers and they take up the produced food for their own nourishment and life activities.

Decomposers recycles materials in the ecosystem by converting wastes generated by producers and consumers into useful products that returns to the atmosphere or replenishes soil nutrients.
