You would plug it in, so where there is a y in the first equation you will plug in the second equation, so it would become 3x+2(x-3)=9 and then solve. First you would distribute and get 3x+2x-6=9, then combine like terms and get 5x-6=9, then add 6 to both sides and get 5x=15, then divide both sides by 5 and get x=3

The answer is x=3

Solve each equation for the given variable a-2b=-10 for b
Ymorist [56]
A-2b=-10
add 2b on both sides
a=2b-10
add 10 to both sides
a+10=2b
divide both sides by 2
a/2+10/2=a/2+5=b
b=5+a/2

What is -4 (-6x + 3) = 12
IgorC [24]

Answer: x = 1

Step-by-step explanation:

Simplifying

-4(-6x + 3) = 12

Reorder the terms:

-4(3 + -6x) = 12

(3 * -4 + -6x * -4) = 12

(-12 + 24x) = 12

Solving

-12 + 24x = 12

Solving for variable 'x'.

Move all terms containing x to the left, all other terms to the right.

Add '12' to each side of the equation.

-12 + 12 + 24x = 12 + 12

Combine like terms: -12 + 12 = 0

0 + 24x = 12 + 12

24x = 12 + 12

Combine like terms: 12 + 12 = 24

24x = 24

Divide each side by '24'.

x = 1

Simplifying

x = 1

Combine like terms. What is a simpler form of each expression?<br> 30 - 5d - C + 3d
borishaifa [10]

30 - 5d - c + 3d

In this equation there are two numbers which have the letter d with them. These would be like terms.

You have -5d + 3d which equals -2d

The simplified form would be 30 -2d -c
