Why did workers organize strikes in the early 1800s?
stellarik [79]

Because work conditions were awful and pay was minuscule, forcing them to live on the streets or if they were lucky to live in a small box of an apartment. Owners abused their authority over their workers and because of this, the workers attempted to fight back. This was not met with friendliness, however, when the owners hired soldiers to wound and kill those who went strike.

You and your coworker are loading boxes into a truck on a busy street when a bicyclist, riding on the sidewalk, suddenly collide
Mice21 [21]
You still have to offer assistance to your coworker and make sure the environment is safe until the EMS personnel arrives. Since you are a trained first aid provider, your skills, and knowledge, as basic as it is, could still provide initial care.

In an attempt to block the Civil Rights Act of 1957, the former Republican senator from South Carolina Strom Thurmond spoke for
Simora [160]

Answer:

The longest filibuster.

Explanation:

A filibuster is a political tactic where one or more members of the parliament discuss the matter of debate for a long time, to delay the final decision.

Senator Strom Thurmond holds the record, however, this tactic has been widely used in the past, as far as the roman empire. When the roman senator Cato the Younger was opposed to any legislation he would often delay the measures, by pronouncing a speech that lasted until nightfall.

As an interesting fact, despite senator Thurmond's fierce opposition, The Civil Rights Act of 1957 was still passed by the US Congress and was signed by President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
