Answer:

The solution of the given equations

x =4 , y = 1

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Explanation</u>:-

<u>Step(l</u>):-

Given the system of equations -5x+13y = -7 ..(l)

                                                     5x+4y=24 ..(ll)

<u>Step(ll)</u>

Adding (l) and (ll) equations and cancelling '5x' terms we get

         13y+4y = -7 +24

               17y = 17

dividing '17' on both sides, we get

                y=1

<u>Step(lll):-</u>

Substitute y=1 in equation (l) , we get

-5x+13y = -7

-5x + 13(1) = -7

subtracting '13' on both sides, we get

-5x +13 -13= -7 -13

-5x = -20

Dividing '-5' on  both sides, we get

x = \frac{-20}{-5}

x = 4

<u>Conclusion</u>:-

The solution of the given equations

x =4 , y = 1

A random variable X follows the uniform distribution with a lower limit of 670 and an upper limit of 750.a. Calculate the mean a
DENIUS [597]

You can compute both the mean and second moment directly using the density function; in this case, it's

f_X(x)=\begin{cases}\frac1{750-670}=\frac1{80}&\text{for }670\le x\le750\\0&\text{otherwise}\end{cases}

Then the mean (first moment) is

E[X]=\displaystyle\int_{-\infty}^\infty x\,f_X(x)\,\mathrm dx=\frac1{80}\int_{670}^{750}x\,\mathrm dx=710

and the second moment is

E[X^2]=\displaystyle\int_{-\infty}^\infty x^2\,f_X(x)\,\mathrm dx=\frac1{80}\int_{670}^{750}x^2\,\mathrm dx=\frac{1,513,900}3

The second moment is useful in finding the variance, which is given by

V[X]=E[(X-E[X])^2]=E[X^2]-E[X]^2=\dfrac{1,513,900}3-710^2=\dfrac{1600}3

You get the standard deviation by taking the square root of the variance, and so

\sqrt{V[X]}=\sqrt{\dfrac{1600}3}\approx23.09

Select the correct answer from the drop-down menu. A whole number is 6 more than 2 times another number. The sum of the two numb
olya-2409 [2.1K]

Answer:

x = \{13,14\}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

x + 2x + 6 < 50

Required

True values of x

We have:

x + 2x + 6 < 50\\

3x + 6 < 50

Collect like terms

3x < 50-6

3x < 44

Divide both sides by 3

x < 44/3

x < 14.67

This means that x has a value lesser than 14.67.

Hence, the valid values are:

x = \{13,14\}
