If there are 10 crayons in a bag with 4 green, 4 red and 2 blue you have :

4 chances out of 10 to get a green crayon, 4 chances out of 10 to get a red crayon and 2 chances out of 10 to get a blue one.

On the first try, you have 4 chances out of 10 to get a red crayon.

If you take this crayon out of the bag, it means that there are 9 crayons remaining with just three red crayon.

Then, you have 3 out of 9 chances to get a red crayon on the second try.

In order to know the probability to get a red crayon each try, we have to multiply each probability :

4/10 * 3/9 = 2/90

12/90 = 2/15

So you have 2 chance out of 15 to get 2 red crayons in a row

10 crayons in all.
P (red) = 4/10 or 2/5
P (2nd red) = 3/9 =1/3  since there are only 9 crayons left from which to choose and only three of them are red (since we already pulled one).

2/5  x 1/3 = 2/15  = P (2 red) with no replacement.

The measures of two angles of a triangle are 49° and 75°. Find the measure of the third angle in degrees.
Alexeev081 [22]
Answer: 56 degrees

Step by step:
The three angles in a triangle add up to 180 degrees.
49 + 75 + the third angle = 180
Let’s simplify.
180 - 49 - 75 = the third angle
So, by subtracting, we know that the third angle is 56 degrees!

Hope this helps! Please tell me if I did anything wrong, thank you so much and have a good day!

Use 3.14 for the value of , and round your answers to two decimal places, where applicable. If the diameter of a circle is 15 m,
sergejj [24]

if the diameter of a circle is 15, its radius is half that or 7.5.

\bf \textit{area of a circle}\\\\ A=\pi r^2~~ \begin{cases} r=radius\\[-0.5em] \hrulefill\\ r=7.5 \end{cases} A=\pi (7.5)^2\implies A=56.25\pi \implies \stackrel{\pi =3.14}{A=176.625}

Use the net to find the surface area of the regular pyramid.<br><br> plz, help I'm stuck.
Zepler [3.9K]

Answer:

178.3 mm²

Step-by-step explanation:

Surface area = Base area + 3 x side triangles area

Sₐ = 43.3 + 3 x (1/2 x (10 x 9)) = 43.3 + (3 x 45) = 178.3

You can jog around the block twice and the park once in 10 min. You can jog around the block twice and the park 3 times in 22 mi
stich3 [128]
B = block     p = park

2b + p = 10 min                2 runs around the block takes 10 minutes
2b + 3p = 22 min        2 runs around the block plus 3 runs around the park                                                       takes 22 minutes

To solve, I will use substitution. First, I will divide the first equation by 2 to get b by itself and subtract p from both sides to get b by itself. Then, substitute 5 - 1/2p in for b in the second equation because they have equal values. Then, subtract 10 from both sides to eliminate it. Divide by 2 to both sides to get 'p' by itself.

2b + p = 10 min ---------→b + 1/2p = 5 ----------→ b = 5 - 1/2p

2(5 - 1/2p) + 3p = 22 ---------→ 10 -p + 3p = 22 --------→ 10 + 2p = 22

10 + 3p = 22 ----------→ 2p = 12

2p = 12 -------------→ p = 6

It takes 6 minutes to jog around the park

Hope this helps!

2. Express each of the following as a rational number in the form of p/q<br> Where q≠0
ANTONII [103]

Step-by-step explanation:

We need to find each of the following as a rational number in the form of p/q

(a) (3/7)²    (b) (7/9)³  (c) (-2/3)⁴

Solution,

(a) (3/7)²

(\dfrac{3}{7})^2=\dfrac{9}{49}

(b) (7/9)³

(\dfrac{7}{9})^3=\dfrac{7\times 7\times 7}{9\times 9\times 9}\\\\=\dfrac{343}{729}

(c) (-2/3)⁴

(\dfrac{-2}{3})^4=\dfrac{-2\times -2\times -2\times -2}{3\times 3\times 3\times 3}\\\\=\dfrac{16}{81}

Hence, this is the required solution.
