If there are 10 crayons in a bag with 4 green, 4 red and 2 blue you have :

4 chances out of 10 to get a green crayon, 4 chances out of 10 to get a red crayon and 2 chances out of 10 to get a blue one.

On the first try, you have 4 chances out of 10 to get a red crayon.

If you take this crayon out of the bag, it means that there are 9 crayons remaining with just three red crayon.

Then, you have 3 out of 9 chances to get a red crayon on the second try.

In order to know the probability to get a red crayon each try, we have to multiply each probability :

4/10 * 3/9 = 2/90

12/90 = 2/15

So you have 2 chance out of 15 to get 2 red crayons in a row

10 crayons in all.
P (red) = 4/10 or 2/5
P (2nd red) = 3/9 =1/3  since there are only 9 crayons left from which to choose and only three of them are red (since we already pulled one).

2/5  x 1/3 = 2/15  = P (2 red) with no replacement.

Which equations and/or functions represent the graphed line? Check all that apply.
8090 [49]
The picture in the attached figure

step 1

find the equation of the line of the graph

let
A (-4,0)  B(0,2)

slope m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)------> m=(2-0)/(0+4)----> m=1/2----> m=0.5

with m=0.5 and point B (0,2)
y-y1=m*(x-x1)-----> y-2=(0.5)*(x-0)-----> y=0.5x+2

step 2
find the solution
<span>
a) f(x) = 0.2x - 4----> the </span>function not represent  the graphed line<span>
b) f(x) = 0.5x + 2----> </span> the function represent  the graphed line<span>
c) f(x) = x + 2</span>--> the function not  represent the graphed line<span>
d) y – 3 = (x – 2)---> y=x+1---> </span>the function not represent the graphed line<span>
e) y – 1 = 0.5(x + 2)</span>-----> y=0.5x+1+1---> y=0.5x+2----->  the function represent  the graphed line

therefore

the answer is
<span>f(x) = 0.5x + 2
and
</span>y – 1 = 0.5(x + 2)

When x=1/2, what is the value of 8x-3 over x?
Taya2010 [7]

\frac{8( \frac{1}{2}) - 3 } { \frac{1}{2} }
\frac{(8 \times \frac{1}{2}) - 3 }{ \frac{1}{2} }  =  \frac{4 - 3}{ \frac{1}{2} }
Because half of 8 is 4

\frac{1}{ \frac{1}{2} }  =  \frac{1 \times 2}{1 \times 1} = 2
Divide 1 by 1/2 or .5... 1 becomes 1/1 and 1/2 is flipped to 2/1, then multiply

Find all zeros.
Jet001 [13]

Answer:

{ 0, 3, - 3 }

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x) = x(2x - 3)(x + 3)

to find the zeros let f(x) = 0 , that is

x(2x - 3)(x + 3) = 0

equate each factor to zero and solve for x

x = 0

2x - 3 = 0 ⇒ 2x = 3 ⇒ x = \frac{3}{2}

x + 3 = 0 ⇒ x = - 3

zeros are { 0, \frac{3}{2} , - 3 }
