A good reference I would give you for ideas on this topic is the novel Hidden Figures, written by author Margot Lee Shetterly. The movie was also released this year if you decide you want to look it up. But to answer your question.

Computers during World war 2 were normal people who just had an ability to use their brains as a caculator or as a expert scientist would. These people usually had access to prestigious education because of their above average intelligence. Computers stood out from the rest. So your main question is was women held to higher standards? I would answer that with yes and no. Because all computers were held to a very high standard for their job because during those years many things during war depended on them. But on the other hand most computers were men so a woman computer did have to prove she could handle her job just as well as the man.

The American Dream is the belief that anyone can become prosperous and successful. How was the growth of cities connected to the
jarptica [38.1K]

Answer:  People moved to cities to find a better job.

The "American dream" was influential in the development of large cities. People often migrated to cities looking for better jobs. Cities provided plenty of opportunities for workers, regardless of their origin or class. However, because of the large influx of immigrants, not all of them were able to improve their situation. Many immigrants were poor after moving to the city, which led to the development of segregated, low-income areas with high numbers of immigrants.
