Answer: x=3

Step-by-step explanation: First we do distributive property in the parentheses. Next we subtract both sides by 6. Lastly we divide both sides by 3. Algebraic Rules!!!

Work:

3(x+2)=15

3x+6=15

3x+6-6=15-6

3x=9

3x/3=9/3

x=3

Multiply the bracket by 3

3x+6=15

3x+6-6=15-6

3x=9

divide by 3 for 3x and 9

3x/3=9/3

x=3

Check answer by using substitution method

3(x+2)=15

3(3+2)= 15

Multiply the bracket by 3

9+6= 15

15= 15

Answer is x= 3

please give me the Brainliest.

Thanks

The sum of two positive numbers is 12. what two numbers will maximize the product g
son4ous [18]

Given two numbers x and y such that:

x + y = 12   ...    (1)

two numbers will maximize the product g

from  equation (1)

y = 12 - x

Using this value of y, we represent xy as

xy = f(x)= x(12 - x)

f(x) = 12x - x^2

Differentiating the above function:

f'(x) = 12 - 2x

Maximum value of f(x) occurs at point for which f'(x) = 0.

Equating f'(x) to 0 we get:

12 - 2x = 0

2x =  12

> x = 12/2 = 6

Substituting this value of x in equation (2):

y = 12 - 6 = 6

Therefore, value of xy is maximum when:

x = 6 and y = 6

The maximum value of xy = 6*6 = 36

Which of the following equations could be solved for a radius? Select all that apply.
zalisa [80]

Answer:

A = π · (r²)

Step-by-step explanation:

A =π · r² is the area of a circle.

While π · r² · h can also give you the radius, it can only do so for the Volume V, not the Area A.

V=lwh doesn't really apply for a circular object, as it requires the length and width. For circular objects, both are equal to the diameter of the object, and 2² · r² · h does not equal the Volume.

V= π · r³ seems awfully like the volume of a sphere, but there's something missing. The true volume of a sphere is V=\frac{4}{3} · π · r³, not V= π · r³.

A=\frac{1}{2}*b*h only applies for triangles.
