Before mechanic:
340 miles with 8 gallons.
A gallon costs $4, so 8 gallons cost 8 * $4 = $32.
$32 per 340 miles = $32/340 = $0.0941/mile = 9.4 cents/mile

After mechanic:
350 miles with 7 gallons.
7 gallons cost 7 * $4 = $28.
$28 per 350 miles = $28/350 = $0.08/mile = 8 cents/mile

The difference is 9.4 - 8 = 1.4.
To the nearest cent, round 1.4 to 1.

Answer: After the mechanic, it cost 1 cent per mile less to run the car.

Since both the expressions in x are equal to y then they are equal to each other, so

-2x + 3 = 13x - 4

-15x + 3 = -4

-15x = -7

x = 7/15

and y = -2(7/15) + 3 =  31/15  = 2 1/15

Find the right quotient. 36m 5 n 5 ÷ (12m 3)
polet [3.4K]
ANSWER

The right quotient is

3  {m}^{2} {n}^{5}

EXPLANATION

The given expression is :

\frac{36 {m}^{5} {n}^{5}  }{12 {m}^{3} }

\frac{36 {m}^{5} {n}^{5}  }{12 {m}^{3} }  =  \frac{36}{12}  \times  \frac{ {m}^{5} }{ {m}^{3}} \times  {n}^{5}

\frac{36 {m}^{5} {n}^{5}  }{12 {m}^{3} }  =  3\times  \frac{ {m}^{5} }{ {m}^{3}} \times  {n}^{5}

Recall that,

\frac{ {a}^{m} }{ {a}^{n} }  =  {a}^{m - n}
We apply this property to obtain;

\frac{36 {m}^{5} {n}^{5}  }{12 {m}^{3} }  =  3 \times   {m}^{5 - 3}  \times  {n}^{5}

\frac{36 {m}^{5} {n}^{5}  }{12 {m}^{3} }  =  3  {m}^{2} {n}^{5}

Which is an x-intercept of the continuous function in the table?(0, –6)(3, 0)(–6, 0)(0, 3)
Neporo4naja [7]

Answer:

B. (3,0)

Step-by-step explanation:

The x-intercept is the point where the graph of the function meets the x-axis.

At x-intercept, <u>y = 0 or f(x) = 0</u>

So look through the table and find where <u>f(x) = 0.</u>

From the table, <u>f(x) = 0 at x = 3.</u>

We write this as an ordered pair.

Therefore the x-intercept is <u>(3,0)</u>

The correct choice is <u>B</u>.

The key word here is *square* in "square flower garden".

So we need to find the area of the flower garden, and subtract it from the overall area of the yard. The remainder will be how much grass covers the yard.

Area of the Square flower garden:
 7.5 * 7.5 = 56.25

Area of the Entire yard:
25 * 18 = 450

450 - 56.25 = 393.75 square feet of grass
