Which of the following does not accurately describe fruits?
Nesterboy [21]

The correct answer is D.

Not all fruits are rich in sugars. In the strict botanical sense, fruit is the  fleshy or dry ripened ovary of a plant, enclosing the seed or seeds. Therefore grapes, bananas, apples as well as bean pods are fruit, technically.

Bean pods are not rich in sugar, hardly any is found in them yet they are fruit. Others are cucumbers,  bitter almonds  and acorns. These are all fruit but not rich in sugars. But the term fruit has been popularly restricted to the ripened ovaries that are sweet and either succulent or pulpy.
