Local governments often oversee public administration matters such as:

• Managing Public Education: Revising the curricula and guaranteeing that infrastructure is in the best condition possible.
• Administering Public Justice: State Courts normally take care of all legal cases which originate within a state's borders. These cases could be escalated into the Supreme Court if constant appeals are put into place.
• Public Infrastructure Projects: Roads and Bridges are taken care of State Governments. These projects normally employ many people during their execution. This is why they are used in times of economic hardship as they create many temporal jobs.
