Q4 Q12.) Solve the following logarithmic equation. Be sure to reject any value of x that is not in the domain of the original logarithmic expression. Give the exact answer.

$log_7 (x + 7) = 2$

Ok so we need to solve that by converting the logarithm to exponential form. We know that the expression $log_a (x) = b$ is equal to x = a^b

Thus,

x + 7 = 7²

x + 7 = 7 * 7

x + 7 = 49

Then subtract 7 on both sides

x + 7 - 7 = 49 - 7

x = 42
