Literally the 4 DS =Dereliction of a duty directly causing damages .( Dereliction meaning deliberate or conscious neglect .) The 4 D's are used when a case is presented against a physician/practice for negligence/malpractice. The patient must provide proof against the physician for all 4 parts.
