What causes ocean tides

Biology

Tides are the rise and fall of the oceans. They are caused by the gravity, or pull, of the Moon and Sun. The Moon's gravity is the main force in causing tides. It makes the oceans bulge out toward it. Another bulge occurs on the opposite side, because Earth is being pulled toward the Moon and away from the water. The water on the side farthest away from the Moon is least affected by its gravity.

Why is the Transfer of energy and matter in a food chain only
about10 percent efficient?
NNADVOKAT [17]

Explanation:

The quantity of energy decreases down each trophic level as only 10% of the energy at the upper level is transferred to the next level, the remaining 90% is lost as heat during metabolic process. Through the energy pyramid we can explain how energy is lost at each trophic level, the number of consumer at each trophic level that will benefit from the transfer of energy depends on the size and quality of the energy from the autotrophs

Why do scientists belive that tectonic active is not accurring on the moon.
Roman55 [17]
Scientists believe that tectonic activity is not occurring on the moon. This is because the moon lacks radioactive decay. The moon is not constantly supplied heat and energy from decaying unstable isotopes like Earth. Also, Earth is heated by the original heat during its formation. Since the moon was most likely broken off from earth, it lacks this central heat. @Kb0812 Hope this helps and if your feeling generous feel free to leave a rate, thanks and brainliest because it would really help me reach expert and I would appreciate it ;)
