Plug in values for x and then you will get a value for y
Example: if you plug in 1 for x than you’d get an answer for y so you’d have a pair of points (1,y) then you plot those points on the graph. Or you could use Desmos graphing calculator online and plus the equations into the website to graph it for you.

fiasKO [112]
Linear equation: d = m t + b
If the graph of the position of the second object is parallel to d = 2.5 t +2.2, than m = 2.5
t = 0, d = 1
1 = 2.5 · 0 + b
b = 1

LuckyWell [14K]

Answer:

to be parallel

slope should be equal

for first question

y=1/3X +2

comparing with y=m1x+c

slope = 1/3

similarly for second equation

y=1/3x -4

comparing with y=m2x + c

m2= 1/3

since m1=m2

lines are parallel

Solve for x
-5x+3(x+5)=11
Simplify your answer as much as possible
Tcecarenko [31]

Answer: x = 7

Step-by-step explanation:

-5x + 3(x + 5) = 1

-5x + 3x + 15 = 1

-2x + 15 = 1

-2x = -14

x = \frac{-14}{-2}

x = 7

What is the slope of the line passing through the points (2, −5) and (4, 1)?
Stels [109]
Slope of a line is represented by the formula:

M = y2 - y1 / x2 - x1

Substitute the coordinates in.

M = 1 - (-5) / 4 - 2

M = 1 + 5 / 4 - 2

M = 6 / 2

M = 3

The slope of a line passing through the points (2, -5) and (4, 1) is 3.
