To find the mean you will have to add all the numbers. And then you will have to divide the sum on the amount of numbers there are.
So you will have to add 17, 24, 26, and 13 which will add up to 80. Now you will have to divide 80 by 4 because there are 4 different numbers so the answer would be 20.

Answer:

20

Step-by-step explanation:

17+24+26+13=80 divided by how many numbers there are 80 divided by 4 = 20.

Roman55 [17]

Answer:

a) P(X>np+3\sqrt{np(1-p)}=0.017

b) P(x>1)=0.190

c) P(Y>1)=0.651

Step-by-step explanation:

This a binomial experiment where success is denoted by parts that need rework.

X ∼ B(n, p); n = 20; p = 0.01

The expected value of X is: E(X) = np =20×0.01= 0.2

The variance is: Var(X) = np(1 − p) = 0.2 × 0.99 = 0.198,

The standard deviation SD(X)= \sqrt{0.198} ≈ 0.445

a) P(X>np+3\sqrt{np(1-p)}=P(X>0.2+3×0.445)=P(X>1.535)=P(X≥2)

Probability function is given by:

\frac{n!}{x!(n-x)!} *p^x*(1-p)^{(n-x)}

P(X≥2)=1-P(X<2)=1-P(X=1)-P(X=0)= 1 - \frac{20!}{1!(20-1)!} *(0.01)^{1}*(1-0.01)^{(20-1)}-\frac{20!}{0!(20-0)!} *(0.01)^{0}*(1-0.01)^{(20-0)}

P(X≥2)=1-0.165-0.818=0.017

b) p=0.04

P(x>1)=P(x≥2)= 1 - P(x=1) - P(x=0)= 1 - \frac{20!}{0!(20-1)!} *(0.04)^{1}*(1-0.04)^{(20-1)} - \frac{20!}{0!(20-0)!} *(0.04)^{0}*(1-0.04)^{(20-0)}

P(x>1)= 1 - 0.368 - 0.442=0.190

c) In this case we consider p=0.19 (Probability that X exceeds 1)

In this experiment Y is the number of hours and n= 5 hours.

Then, we check the probability in each hour:

P(Y>1)=1- P(Y=0)

P(Y=0)=\frac{5!}{0!(5-0)!} *(0.19)^{0}*(1-0.19)^{(5-0)}=0.349

P(Y>1)=1-0.349=0.651

Why are the orbitals represented in those<br> shapes?
Marat540 [252]

Answer:

An orbital is a wave function for an electron defined by the three quantum numbers, n, ℓ and ml. Orbitals define regions in space where you are likely to find electrons. s orbitals (ℓ = 0) are spherical shaped. p orbitals (ℓ = 1) are dumb-bell shaped.

If ∠BAC = 17° and ∠CED = 17° are the two triangles, ΔBAC and ΔCED similar? If so, by what criterion?
Alborosie

No, not possible to tell that the the two triangles, ΔBAC and ΔCED

are similar ⇒ answer D

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us revise the cases of similarity

1. AAA similarity : two triangles are similar if all three angles in the first

triangle equal the corresponding angle in the second triangle

2. AA similarity : If two angles of one triangle are equal to the

corresponding angles of the other triangle, then the two triangles

   are similar.

3. SSS similarity : If the corresponding sides of the two triangles are

proportional, then the two triangles are similar.

4. SAS similarity : In two triangles, if two sets of corresponding sides

are proportional and the included angles are equal then the two

   triangles are similar.

In the two triangles BAC and CED

∵ m∠BAC = 17°

∵ m∠CED = 17°

∴ m∠BAC = m∠CED

But we need another pair of angles to prove that the two triangles are

similar by AA similarity criterion

<em>OR </em>

The lengths of sides BA , CA and CE , DE to show that

\frac{BA}{CE}=\frac{CA}{DE} = constant ratio and prove that the

two triangles are similar by SAS similarity criterion

So it is not possible to prove that the two triangles are similar

No, not possible to tell that the the two triangles, ΔBAC and ΔCED

are similar
