• the eye and the ear are both passive structures
• the eye and the ear both respond to brain commands
Differences
• eyes relay the location and movement of objects in our visual field and the ears convey information about the actions of objects both in and outside of our visual field
• eyes are designed to sense light, while the ears are equipped to detect sound
