The additive inverse of an integer is a number, when added to the integer, equals 0. Basically, its the opposite number.

Example : Find the additive inverse of 5
                5 + ? = 0 .... the additive inverse would be -5...because 5 + (-5)                    = 5 - 5 = 0.

The additive inverse of 3 = -3
additive inverse of - 4 = 4
additive inverse of 6 = -6

The sides of triangle ABC are 4.5feet 7.5 ft and 9 ft.The area is about 17 square feet. Explain how to use the are of triangle A
Nuetrik [128]
In order to get the area of a triangle using sides, the formula that we are going to use is Heron's formula. This is after from "Hero of Alexandria".
So here is the step by step process:
First, we calculate for s (half of the triangles perimeter) s = a+b+c divided by 2.
s = 6 + 10 + 12 / 2
s =28/2
s = 14
Now that we have the s, we can now calculate for the area.
A = square root of s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)
A= square root of 14 x 8 x 4 x 2
A= square root of 896
A = 29.93
The area of triangle DEF is 29.93 square feet or 30 square feet. Hope this answer helps.

UNO [17]

Answer: she played 5 games and went on 8 rides

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x represent the number of games that Sydney played.

Let y represent the number of rides that Sydney went on.

Each game cost $1.25 and each ride cost $2.25. If Sydney spent $24.25 altogether at the carnival, then the expression is

1.25x + 2.25y = 24.25- - - - - - - - - - -1

If the number of rides that she went on is 3 more than the number of games that she played, the expression would be

y = x + 3

Substituting y = x + 3 into equation 1, it becomes

1.25x + 2.25(x + 3) = 24.25

1.25x + 2.25x + 6.75 = 24.25

3.5x = 24.25 - 6.75

3.5x = 17.5

x = 17.5/3.5

x = 5

y = x + 3 = 5 + 3

y = 8
