Solve for x using figure to the right. Pls answer this it is urgent
goldenfox [79]

Answer:

Therefore the value of x = 10 units

Step-by-step explanation:

Let label the Triangles first,

Δ ABC a right triangle at ∠ A =90°

Δ ADB andΔ ADC a right triangle at ∠ D =90°

Such that

AD = x

BD = 50

CD = 2

∴ BC = BD + DC = 50 + 2 = 52

To Find:

x = ?

Solution:

In right triangle  By Pythagoras Theorem,

(\textrm{Hypotenuse})^{2} = (\textrm{Shorter leg})^{2}+(\textrm{Longer leg})^{2}

In right triangle Δ ADB andΔ ADC  By Pythagoras Theorem we will have,

AB² =  BD² + AD²

AB² = 50² + x²            ..................equation ( 1 )

and

AC² = DC² + AD²

AC² = 2² + x²             ...................equation ( 2 )

Now in right triangle Δ ABC,

BC² = AB² + AC²

Equating equation  (1 ) and ( 2 ) and the given value we get

52² = 50² + x² + 2² + x²

∴ 2x² = 2704 - 2504

∴ 2x² =200

∴ x^{2} =\frac{200}{2}\\\\\therefore x=\pm\sqrt{100} \\\\ \textrm{x cannot be negative}\\\therefore x= 10\ unit

Therefore the value of x = 10 units

Rita bought a pair of jeans for $89. The sales-tax rate is 11 percent. What is the total amount she paid for the jeans?
andre [41]

Total amount paid by Rita is $98.79

Step-by-step explanation:

  • Step 1: Given sales tax = 11% and cost of jeans = $89
  • Step 2: Calculate amount of sales tax = 11% of 89 = 11/100 × 89 = $9.79
  • Step 3: Calculate the total amount

Total Amount = 89 + 9.79 = $98.79

Theresa has a credit card that uses the average daily balance method. For the first 12 days of one of her billing cycles, her ba
katrin [286]
Using the average daily balance method, the amount to be used in calculating Theresa's interest is given by:

\frac{350\times12+520\times19}{12+19} = \frac{4200+9880}{31}  \\  \\ = \frac{14080}{31} =$454.19

Therefore, the interest charge on Theresa for the biling cycle is given by:

\frac{454.19(0.14)}{12} = \frac{63.59}{12}  \\  \\ =\$5.30

List 3 values that would make this unequally true 48 < 6n
charle [14.2K]
N> 8
Any value greater than 8 will work for n you choose

And this is why

48 < 6n
same thing as
6n > 48
divide by 6 on both sides
And that leaves you with
n>8

Examples which would work
n=9, n=120, n=756, n = 12
