How I got that answer:
- Step 1) Plot the point P = (-1,5)
- Step 2) Draw a horizontal line through 1 on the y axis to create the line y = 1.
- Step 3) Starting at point P, move down 4 spaces until you reach (-1,1) which is on the horizontal line. I'll call this point A.
- Step 4) Move another 4 spaces vertically downward until you arrive at (-1, -3). This is the location of P' and it is the final answer.
The distance from P' to A is the same as the distance from P to A. In other words, P'A = PA.
