Answer:

D

Explanation:

Cell division is a process whereby a cell splits into two (mitosis) or more (meiosis) identical (mitosis) or non-identical (meiosis) daughter cells. Cells undergo division to increase in number/multiply or reproduce.

Before a cell can divide; whether through meiosis or mitosis, its genetic material (DNA) must first be replicated. This process of DNA replication occurs in the S-phase of interphase (resting stage before division). DNA replication involves synthesizing a copy of the original DNA making two copies, which will then be shared into the arising daughter cells.

The DNA gets duplicated prior to division by the cell, this is done in order to ensure that each daughter cell receives the a correct number of genetic material from the parents. The duplicated chromosome (DNA) splits into two, each going to opposite cells, in the anaphase stage of either meiosis or mitosis, after which cytokinesis (division of cytoplasm) occurs with each cell possessing a copy of chromosomal material.

What would happen if we didnt have mitochondria ? ( paragraph)
slamgirl [31]
Basically, the cell wouldn't be able to "breathe," as the mitochondria is where the respiratory functions of the cell happens. No energy would be produced, and then the cell would stop moving and die.
