Answer:

Peer review refers to a process of evaluation which is designed to validate and assess the originality and quality of academic work.

Explanation:

In Academia, the revision of an academic work (<em>e.g</em>. a research article), or peer review, is fundamental to determine its originality and ensure good quality for publishing purposes.

  • This process starts when an author submits a research paper to a journal to publish it.
  • If all the requirements of the particular journal (each journal has different requirements and specifications) are met, the Editor sends it to experts on the particular area of study to assess it.
  • If all experts agree on the quality of the paper, they send a report back to the Editor, who decides whether the article should be<em> rejected, revised</em>, or <em>accepted</em>.
  • Authors then check the report and edit it appropriately (if accepted).
  • Whether if it is accepted or rejected, the Editor must communicate the decision to the authors of the paper.

Morgarella [4.7K]
<h2>The work of Charles Darwin and Alfred Wallace </h2>

Explanation:

C) uniform modification of genetic traits over long periods of time.

The theory of uniformitarianism  states that the natural phenomena and laws that are bringing about changes in the today's world are functioning in the same rate since the geological times. This idea of uniformitarianism was linked to biological sciences because according to Darwin and Wallace's observation, the uniform modification of genes among the population brought about the species diversity on the Earth.

The species that is known as a robin in England has a yellow breast, and another species that is known as a robin in the United
Mamont248 [21]
<h3><u>Answer;</u></h3>

C. Different species can share the same common name.

<h3><u>Explanation;</u></h3>
  • <em><u>Different organisms can share the same common name</u></em>, and thus the reason why scientists avoid using common naming while naming organisms.
  • Additionally, s<em><u>cientists avoid using common names because they are not specific to a specific species.</u></em> For instance, Robin is a common word that may be used to describe the many species of robin that are found in different regions of the earth, for example, Robin in England which has yellow breast, and robin in United states and have red breasts.
  • Therefore, <em><u>for the purpose of avoiding ambiguity and confusion in naming organisms scientists use scientific names while identifying various species.</u></em>
