Which of the following is the algebraic expression that best describes the sequence 3,6,9,12 ?
Novay_Z [31]
I don't see any choices so I am going to give you what I think the answer would be. The rule would be 3x. That would be you could plug any number in and they would give you the sequence. Example:
x = 1
x times 3 = 3.
We could even find future things like:
x = 10
x times 10 = 30.
If we were doing it based on the algebraic expression it would be "multiplication" because we are multiplying. Hope this helped. :)

The probability that a visitor to an animal shelter will adopt a dog is .20. out of nine visits, what is the probability that at
lana66690 [7]
This is a binomial probability situation, since a dog either is adopted or is not adopted.  The chances of a dog's being adopted in 0.20.  Here we're speaking of 9 visits.  Thus, n=9, p=0.20.

One way of doing this problem is to calculate the probability that ONE dog will be adopted, and then that that TWO dogs will be adopted, and so on, up to NINE dogs.  Add together these nine probabilities to get your answer.

But a better (faster) approach would be to calculate the probability that ZERO dogs will be adopted, and then to subtract this from 1.000.

Using my TI-84Plus calculator, I figured that P(0 dogs will be adopted) is binompdf(9,0.20,0), or 0.134.  Subtracting this from 1.000, we get 0.866 (answer to this problem).

The gross weight of a package and its contents is 11 pounds 5 ounces. If the packaging weighs 1 pound 15 ounces, what's the net
dsp73
Answer A
For ease convert both into ounces.

Gross = (11x16) + 5 = 181 ounces
Packaging = (1x16) + 15 = 31 oz.

Now subtract Packaging from Gross

181 - 31 = 150 oz.

Divide by 16 to get pounds

150/16 = 9.375 - hence 9 lb.

and multiply 16 by .375 for ounces

0.375 x 16 = 6 oz.

Thus A : 9lb 6 oz
