Throughout history there were kingdoms on what is now Israel on multiple occasions. All of them have suffered the same faith though, being brutally destroyed and the at least part of the population being forced out of their homeland. This has been most noticeable during the Assyrian Empire.

The Assyrians managed to become the most powerful empire at one point in the Middle East. They conquered the Israel kingdoms with relative ease, but keeping them under control was not so easy. The Israelite people didn't wanted to accept the fact that they are enslaved and ruled by other people so they were not submitting and were revolting. The Assyrians were not very tolerant though so they were brutal, destroyed the majority of the objects and forcing lot of people out of the empire, mostly ending in Asia Minor.
