In a series circuit, the current is the same at every point, so
the current through the 6-ohm resistor is also 4 Amperes.

 Voltage across a resistor =

                   (current through the resistor)
               times
                   (resistance of the resistor)  .

Voltage across the 6-ohm resistor =

                   (4 Amperes) x (6 ohms)  =  24 volts .
