Remark Start by noticing that each member of the sequence ends in a one. That means that x^n must always be the same number no matter what n is. (n is defined as a whole number > 0 ). Your choices are 3^n , 4^n , 5^n and 6^n.

Solution.

3^n try a few to see what happens when you raise 3 to the first 4 numbers.

3^1 = 3; 3^2 = 9; 3^3 = 27; 3^4 = 81 The last number is the only one that ends in a one. All the others are all over the place. C is not the answer.

Now try 4 4^1 = 4; 4^2 = 16; 4^3 = 64; 4^4 = 256 D is not the answer

How about 6 6^1 = 6; 6^2 = 36; 6^3 = 216; 6^4 = 1296 This is your second best answer. The problem is that when you take away 4, you wind up with a 2 and not a 1 as the last digit. Alas B is not the answer.

The only answer left is A. When you subtract 4 away from 5^n you get something ending in 1. Answer: A

NemiM [27]
For the first equation, the answer is C) completing the square.
For the second equation, the answer is B) zero product property.

For the first equation, we can easily complete the square by finding half of b and squaring it; then we can take the square root of both sides and solve the equation.

For the second equation, since it is already factored, we use the zero product property to solve it.

A rectangle has an area of 40 square units. The length is 6<br> units greater than the width.
stiks02 [169]

Answer:

Answer:

The width is 4 units, and the length is 10 units.

Step-by-step.

Step-by-step explanation:

area of rectangle = length * width

Let L = length; let W = width.

"The length is 6 units greater than the width.": L = W + 6

area = LW = 40

Since L = W + 6, we substitute L with W + 6.

(W + 6)W = 40

W^2 + 6W = 40

W^2 + 6W - 40 = 0

(W - 4)(W + 10) = 0

W - 4 = 0 or W + 10 = 0

W = 4 or W = -10

A width cannot be a negative number, so we discard the solution W = -10.

W = 4

L = W + 6 = 4 + 6 = 10

The width is 4 units, and the length is 10 units.

So if you 12 centimeter cubes to build a rectangular prism, the prism has a volume of _______ cubic centimeters, or _______ cm
-Dominant- [34]
1728 cubic centimeters

12 with the exponent of 3 would basically be 12x12x12 but easier i put 12x12=144x12= which is 1728

cuz if its just 12x12 thats just the area of one side, if its 12x12x12 its the volume of the whole cube/rectangular prism
