Answer:

1. It depends what type of method you are using. if it is Height x Width x Length then it will not work for an irregular shape because it has extra pieces that would not be included.

2. The second method would work for both regular and irregular shapes because you would have to know or find out the volume of the regular shape to get the volume for the irregular shape.

3. It also depends on what you are doing, if you are doing a regular shape then use the first method, if it's an irregular shape then use the second method, if you do the maths correctly both should give you an accurate answer for what you want to achieve.

4. No, because the sugar would dissolve.

5. No, on this case the displacement method would not work because of the weight difference

Hypothesize why parts of a plant, such as the leaves, are green, but other parts, such as the roots, are not. use scientific rea
Leto [7]
No idea about the scientific reasoning, but the leaves of the plant are where the most photosynthesizing has to happen. In order for the plant to get energy it has to absorb the most light. So it creates broad leaves. The reason they are green is because chloroplasts are green. I believe that the cells in the leaves have more chloroplasts so that they can catch more sunlight.<span />

1. Define diffusion.
anygoal [31]

Answer:

1) Diffusion is net movement of anything (e.g., atom, ions, molecules) from a region of higher concentration to a region of lower concentration.

2) Osmosis is the spontaneous net movement of solvent molecules through a selectively permeable membrane into a region of higher solute concentration, in the direction that tends to equalize the solute concentrations on the two sides

3) One big difference between osmosis and diffusion is that both solvent and solute particles are free to move in diffusion, but in osmosis, only the solvent molecules (water molecules) cross the membrane.

4)  Molecules tend to move from areas of higher concentration to areas of lower concentration.

I'm sorry, but I don't know how to do part #2. I think it's a lab.
