Most bacteria:

Biology

Answer:

Option A, do not immediately increase in number when placed in a culture

Explanation:

When a bacteria is placed in a culture, it does not start reproducing immediately. There are four growth phases of  bacterial population in a given culture. During the lag phase, the bacteria becomes active and increases its cell size. After the lag phase, the bacterial cell enters into the log phase and start dividing thereby increasing its population in a logarithmic fashion until it reaches a stage where accumulated toxic products reduces the rate of cell growth and hence the bacterial population

Thus, option A is correct

Answer:

a. do not immediately increase in number when placed in a culture

Explanation:

When bacteria placed in a new culture it shows a pattern of growth which is known as sigmoid growth. It has four phases lag, log, stationary, and death.

The lag phase occurs because bacteria do not start dividing immediately just after the placed in the new culture media because bacteria first adapt to the new environment and prepare enzymes needed for metabolizing the new substrate.

As the bacteria pass this lag phase it starts to divide at an exponential rate. Therefore it is true that most bacteria do not increase in number immediately after placed in a new culture.

How do sulfur and phosphorus move from the biotic to the abiotic pools during their cycles? A) Primary consumers eat producers.
worty [1.4K]

Answer:D) Decomposers break down the remains of producers and consumers

Explanation:A biotic pool is a tidal pool with diverse and changing habitats of living factors. We can say they are important mini ecosystems within the larger ecosystem.

The abiotic pool involves the elemental phases of nature, the non living parts of the ecosystem. Decomposition (break down) of elements/organic compounds is the characteristic bridge between both pools into what is known as nutrients.

This tell us that the ultimate dead part of producers and consumers are used up in this process.

Some of the nutrients released in the biogeochemical cyclic process includes sulfur and phosphorus and they move through the ecosystem.

Note: The biogeochemical cycle is a pathway of movement for chemical elements.

The chemical elements in nature moves through both biotic and abiotic components via abiotic and biotic interaction in the ecosystem

Few abiotic factors includes rocks, air, water, and chemicals while biotic factors includes living organisms activities.

All living and non living elements of nature play vital roles in the great biogeochemical cycle.

How does an area's weather differ from the area's climate?
DerKrebs [107]

C

Weather is the day-to-day changes in the atmospheric conditions of  regions. Weather parameters are usually temperatures, humidity, rainfall, air pressure, and etcetera. These vary greatly every so often on a daily basis. Climate, on the other hand is categories into arctic, subarctic, subterranean, Mediterranean, temperature, equatorial, and etcetera.

Explanation:

When weather is studied for a long time, such as for over 30 years, general weather patterns can be discerned that will determine the climate of the region. These general weather patterns over a region will make up its climate. Climate does not change considerably. Therefore the climate of a region remains steady. If the climate of a region changes it does so ever so slightly over millennia  and would change because of phenomena like earth’s tectonic plate movements, space phenomenons, and human activities.

which represents the optimal condition for most enzymes in the small intestine? 1. pH12 2.45°C 3. pH10 4.pH2 5.37 °C
mojhsa [17]

Answer:

5.37 °C

Explanation:

The optimal condition for most enzymes in the small intestine is 37 °C.

Enzymes are responsible for mediating several biological processes in the human body. The optimal condition for enzymes in the small intestine has an optimum pH of about 7.5 and the temperature is 37 °C, which is the normal body temperature of the human body.

Hence, the correct option is "5. 37 °C".
