Answer: (1)  $847.85 ,  (2) $141.31

Step-by-step explanation:

House rent amount                                  =   $678.28

Tax rate of 15% of the rent                       = 15/100 x 678.28

                                                                   =  $101.742

% charged for late payments                   = 10% of 678.28

                                                                   = 10/100 x 678.28

                                                                   = $67.828

(1)   Now , the total amount due payable by the six sorority sisters

                                                                   = $678.28 + $101.742 + $67.828

                                                                   = $847.85.

The question is in two parts

(2)  The amount each of the six sorority sisters should contribute if they are paying equal amount                                = $847.85

                                                                       ----------

                                                                            6

                                                                   = $141.31

Write the equation of the line parallel to 5x + y = -2 that goes through the point (2, -3).
gladu [14]

Answer:

y = -5x + 7

Step-by-step explanation:

Slope-Intercept Form: y = mx + b

Step 1: Define

5x + y = -2

Random point (2, -3)

Step 2: Rewrite

y = -5x - 2

m = -5

Step 3: Write parallel line

y = -5x + b

-3 = -5(2) + b

-3 = -10 + b

7 = b

y = -5x + 7
