George Mandler was an Austrian-born American psychologist who contributed to psychologist theories about memory and storing information. He applied organization theory to understand memory storage, which examines an organizational structure, processes and practices to shape and use in social relations.
So, according to Mandler, this structures are organized by categories from which the brain recall the information we need to use. He even found a relation between this categorization and the ability of storing information, in other words, those categories is what makes the brain a high performance machines to store a really big amount of data, without that categories, we would have problems trying to remember thing, or we do it with too much distortion.
