Kevin has mowed 40% of the lawn. If he has been mowing for 20 minutes, how long will it take him to mow the rest of the grass?
Katen [24]
It will take 30 minutes more for remaining grass. As he mowed 40% in 20 minutes, it shows that he mows twice percentage of grass in the time calculated in minutes. So it will take 30 minutes for remaining 60% grass.

Last year Billy weighed 75kg. This year he weighed 90kg. With what percentage did his weight increase. SHOW ALL WORK!!!
polet [3.4K]

well let's round. 90= 100, 75=80 that is how I face it. now 80 is 1/5 of 5/5= 100. so as a (%) we would sort it like:::: it is 80% out of +100 so he must have grown around 13%-16% due to him being 75kg in the past.

Two gift shops sell postcards. Each gift shop charges a fixed amount per postcard. The prices, in cents, for different numbers o
Snowcat [4.5K]

1st gift shop:

120/4 = 30 cents each

180/6 = 30 cents each

390/13 = 30 cents each

2nd gift shop:

204/7 = 29.14 cents each

192/8 = 24 cents each

270 /9 = 30 cents each

360/10 = 36 cents each

so if both gift shops have a fixed price then the 9 post cards would be the answer since it matches 30 each like the 1st gift store
