The answer is Alfred Wallace.
Darwin began formulating his theory of natural selection in the late 1830s but he went on working silently on it for twenty years. He wanted to amass a wealth of evidence before publicly presenting his idea. During those years he corresponded briefly with Wallace (right), who was exploring the wildlife of South America and Asia. Wallace supplied Darwin's help publishing his own ideas on evolution. He sent Darwin his theory in 1858, which, to Darwin's shock, nearly replicated Darwin's own.

likoan [24]

Answer:

A to N

Explanation:

Glutamine is an amino acid with a polar, uncharged side chain. The mutation to alanine, an amino acid with a non-polar side chain, completely affects the enzymatic activity. This makes sense considering the difference in the nature of both amino acids.

To restore the wild-type level of activity the alanine would have to mutate to another polar uncharged amino acid. Among the given options, only Asparagine (N) has a similar chemistry to Glutamine.

What can help this rescue dog and firefighters find fearful people and pets stuck in buildings that are on fire? [10]
oksian1 [2.3K]

Distress vocalizations can help this rescue dog and firefighters find fearful people and pets stuck in buildings that are on fire

Distress vocalizations are sounds produced in the presence of painful, stressful, or threatening stimuli.

Mammalian vocalizations are the product of respiratory and laryngeal activities under the direct control of brain stem cranial and spinal motor neurons and modulated by higher brain processes.

Vocalizations offer the further promise of unique informational content about the emotional state of the subject. There is evidence that the form, contexts, and neural processes which modulate distress vocalizations are highly conserved between species.
