Answer: The angle between the carbon-chlorine bonds in phosgene will be 120°

Explanation: Formula used to calculate the hybridization:

{\text{Number of electron pairs}} =\frac{1}{2}[V+N-C+A]

where,

V = number of valence electrons present in central atom i.e. carbon = 4

N = number of monovalent atoms bonded to central atom = 2

C = charge of cation = 0

A = charge of anion = 0

For COCl_2

{\text{Number of electron pairs}} =\frac{1}{2}[4+2-0+0]=3

The number of electron pairs are 3 which means that the hybridization will be sp^2 and the electronic geometry of the given molecule will be trigonal planar.

The bond angle in this electronic geometry is 120°

The structure of phosgene is attached below.

vaieri [72.5K]

Answer:

a. Disminuye.

b. Disminuye.

Explanation:

¡Hola!

r=k[CO]^2[O_2]

Al aplicar los siguientes cambios, resultaría:

¡Saludos!

Choose the TRUE statement.

Mass is calculated by using an objects inertia. Since inertia is a quality of matter that resists motion, we can apply an increasing force to an object until it accelerates.

Then, by measuring its acceleration we can now determine its mass using the simple equation F=m×a, except rewritten as m=Fa.

So we divide the force that we applied by the acceleration rate and we get the objects mass.

Without inertia this cannot be done.

∴ Answer is C

In the cathode ray tube experiment, J. J. Thomson passed an electric current through different gases inside a cathode ray tube i
omeli [17]

The answer is: B-It showed that atoms can be divided into smaller parts.

It showed that all atoms contain electrons.

Tomson concluded that atoms are divisible and that the corpuscles are their building blocks (atoms are made up of smaller particles).

J. J. Thomson discovered the electron in 1897.

His "plum pudding" model (1904) suggested: the electrons are embedded in the positive charge.

With this model, he abandoned his earlier hypothesis (the atom was composed of immaterial vortices).
