The human cells will lose totipotency about 4 days after fertilization. The fertilized egg creates a single totipotent cell called  a zygote. The zygote divides into identical totipotent cells. Approximately about 4 days, the totipotent cells begin to specialize and becomes pluripotent.

Compare in general terms the effects of epinephrine glucagon and insulin on glucose metabolism
storchak [24]
<span> Epinephrine and glucagon cause an increase in the blood glucose level. Epinephrine acts when a higher than normal level of glucose is required; glucagon acts when the level is unusually low. Both stimulate gluconeogenesis and glycogen breakdown and decrease glycolysis and glycogen synthesis. Insulin causes a decrease in blood glucose levels; it acts by increasing glycogen synthesis, glycolysis, and glucose uptake by cells as well as by decreasing glycogen breakdown.

Why is the hydrolysis of water required for photosynthesis?
Papessa [141]

Hydrolysis is a chemical process in which a water molecule is inserted.

In light-based reaction, which occurs in the thylakoid layer, chlorophyll absorbs energy from the sun and converts it into chemical energy through water. Light-dependent reactions release oxygen to water hydrolysis as a by-product.

Hope it helps!

How does a mother’s diet affect the dna of a baby
son4ous [18]

A mother's diet before conception can permanently affect how her child's genes function, according to a study published in Nature Communications.    A 2003 study found that a female mouse's diet can change her offspring's coat color by permanently modifying DNA methylation.
