Answer with explanation:

Description about Number line:

→Number line with a closed circle on negative 2, shading to the left and a closed circle on 4, shading to the right.------(1)

⇒Taking the fragment of the above sentence,"till shading to left" and describing it in terms of Inequality

x ≤ -2-------(2)

x∈(-∞,-2]

And,Now writing another half of the sentence--(1) in terms of inequality,

x≥4---------(3)

x∈[4,∞)

Why i have ,taken equal to sign into consideration, the reason is that the two circles which are marked on -2 and 4, tells us that these points must be considered,while writing inequality

Combining ,(2) and (3),we get

⇒x less than or equal to −2 or x greater than or equal to 4

Given the diagram below, find the value of x. Then find AC,
Stels [109]

Answer:

x=5,\\AC=14

Step-by-step explanation:

Since one triangle is inscribed in another, the two triangles are similar. As marked in the diagram, the sides of the larger triangle are exactly two times larger than the corresponding sides of the smaller triangle.

Therefore, we have:

2(x+2)=4x-6,\\2x+4=4x-6,\\10=2x,\\x=\boxed{5}

Since AC is marked by 4x-6:

AC=4(5)-6,\\AC=20-6,\\AC=\boxed{14}

Y_Kistochka [10]
The only solution is x=7
Although the problem is solves correctly, always makes sure to check it by inputting it back into the equation. Putting -3 into the equation, one side turns negative and the other is positive. For this reason, it is impossible for one of the answers to be -3.

Answer: He spends more time trading stickers by 15 minutes.
Step-by-step: 1 hour is 60 minutes. So 2 hours is 120 minutes. 120 minutes plus his 20 minutes is 140 minutes. Subtract it from his homework time and he spends 15 more minutes trading stickers.
