Bear in mind that words like "are" or "is" is replaced by an equal "=" sign in the equation.
more than or increased by denotes addition
twice the number denotes two times the number
times, simply means multiply.

Let x be the unknown number in the equations.

12 birds are 3 more than twice the number of birds Rhonda saw yesterday.

12 = 2x + 3

Negative 6 times the sum of a number and 4 is 2

-6(x+4) = 2

Four time a number increased by 3 is -89

4x + 3 = -89

Prove the identity 2csc2x=csc^2xtanz
Verizon [17]

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the LHS, after the 5th step, consider the RHS

2 \csc(2x)  =  \csc {}^{2} (x)  \tan(x)

2 \frac{1}{ \sin(2x) }  =  \csc {}^{2} (x)  \tan(x)

2  \times \frac{1}{2 \sin(x)  \cos(x) }  =  \csc {}^{2} (x)  \tan(x)

\frac{1}{ \sin(x) \cos(x)  }  =   \csc {}^{2} (x)  \tan(x)

\csc(x)  \sec(x)  =  \csc {}^{2} (x)  \tan(x)

Consider the RHS

\csc(x)  \sec(x)  =( 1 +  \cot {}^{2} (x) ( \tan(x))

\csc(x)  \sec(x)  =  \tan(x)  +  \cot(x)

\csc(x)  \sec(x)  =  \frac{ \sin(x) }{ \cos(x) }  +  \frac{ \cos(x) }{ \sin(x) }

\csc(x)  \sec(x)  =  \frac{1}{ \sin(x) \cos(x)  }

\csc(x)  \sec(x)  =  \csc(x)  \sec(x)
