Answer:  The required co-ordinates of the midpoint S are (-1.5, 2).

Step-by-step explanation:  Given that S is the midpoint of a line segment QR, where the co-ordinates of he endpoints are Q(-5, 5) and R(2, -1).

We are to find the co-ordinates of the midpoint S.

We know that

the co-ordinates of the midpoint of a line segment with endpoints (a, b) and (c, d) are

\left(\dfrac{a+c}{2},\dfrac{b+d}{2}\right).

Therefore, the co-ordinates of the point S are

\left(\dfrac{-5+2}{2},\dfrac{5+(-1)}{2}\right)\\\\\\=\left(\dfrac{-3}{2},\dfrac{4}{2}\right)\\\\=(-1.5,2).

Thus, the required co-ordinates of the midpoint S are (-1.5, 2).

Answer:

(-1.5, 2)

Step-by-step explanation:

Add both x coordinates, divide by 2.

(-5) + 2 = -3

-3/2 = -1.5

Add both y coordinates, divide by 2.

5 + (-1) = 4

4/2 = 2

In the figure below, B is between A and C, and C is between B and D. If AC=9, BD=10, and BC-2, find AD
ehidna [41]

Considering the situation described in the problem, the length of segment AD is of: 17 units.

<h3>How to find the length of segment AD?</h3>

From the situation described in the problem, segment AD is divided into three parts:

  • Part AB.
  • Part BC.
  • Part CD.

Then, the length of segment AD is:

AD = AB + BC + CD.

We have that AC = 9, hence:

AB + BC = 9.

We also have that BD = 10, then:

BC + CD = 10.

Since BC = 2, we have that:

  • AB + BC = 9 -> AB + 2 = 9 -> AB = 7.
  • BC + CD = 10 -> 2 + CD = 10 -> CD = 8.

Then the length of segment AD is given as follows:

AD = AB + BC + CD = 7 + 2 + 8 = 17.

The answer I believe is 5 because 2 vases hold 10 red roses and 5 yellow roses. But since the person has 3 vases but it has to be the same amount as the first person. They would both have 30 flowers in their vases. But then each of the vases has 6 red roses so you just do 30 divided by 6 and you get 5.
