To find the area of the coin/a circle we use this equation:
(a = area, r = radius, d = diameter)

a = r²

So we need to do for the radius.
r = d/2
r = 18/2
r = 9

Then solve
a = 9²
a = 81

The correct answer is 81.

The length of a rectangle is increased by 25% , but the width of the rectangle is decreased by 25%. By what percent was the rect
Yuki888 [10]

The rectangle's area decreased by 19%.

Length = L

Breadth = B

Original area = L x B

New area = A = L x (1 + 25%) x B x (1 - 25%)

A = L x B x 0.25 x 0.75 = L x B x 1.05

Therefore the area of the rectangle has decreased by 19%.

To find the location of a rectangle, multiply its width by means of its height. If we understand the sides of the rectangle which are different lengths, then we have each the height and the width.

The perimeter P of a rectangle is given through the system, P=2l+2w, wherein l is the period and w is the width of the rectangle. The area A of a rectangle is given by means of the method, A=lw, in which l is the duration and w is the width.

Please help, easy geometry
iVinArrow [24]

Answer:

  26 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

The area of the rectangle whose dimensions are shown at the right and bottom is ...

  (6 cm)(7 cm) = 42 cm²

The figure is smaller than that by the area of the space whose dimensions are shown at the right and in the middle left:

  (4 cm)(4 cm) = 16 cm²

The figure area is then the difference ...

  42 cm² - 16 cm² = 26 cm²

_____

Alternate solution

Draw a diagonal line between the lower right inside corner and the lower right outside corner. This divides the figure into two trapezoids.

The trapezoid at lower left has bases 7 and 4 cm, and height 6-4 = 2 cm. Its area is ...

  A = (1/2)(b1 +b2)h = (1/2)(7 + 4)(2) = 11 . . . . cm²

The trapezoid at upper right has bases 6 cm and 4 cm and height 3 cm. Its area is ...

  A = (1/2)(b1 +b2)h = (1/2)(6 + 4)(3) = 15 . . . . cm²

Then the area of the figure is the sum of the areas of these trapezoids, so is ...

  11 cm² + 15 cm² = 26 cm²

_____

Comment on other alternate solutions

There are many other ways you can find the area of this figure. It can be divided into rectangles, triangles, or other figures of your choice. The appropriate area formulas should be used, and the resulting partial areas added or subtracted as required.

You can also let a geometry program find the area for you. (It is 26 cm².)

The main entrance to the Louvre art museum is shaped like a pyramid. The

The Lateral Surface Area of Square based pyramid whose height= 71 feet Slant height= 90 feet and Base= 115 feet is 20700 ft^{2} .

The Lateral Surface Area is 20700 ft^{2}

What Lateral Surface Area of Square based pyramid?

The word "lateral" means "belonging to the side". So the lateral area of a square pyramid is the sum of the areas of its side faces. This is also known as the lateral surface area (LSA) of the square pyramid. We know that a square pyramid has:

  • a base which is a square.
  • 4 side faces, each of which is a triangle.

It is given that,

  • height, h= 71 feet
  • Slant height, l= 90 feet
  • Base, b= 115 feet

Lateral Surface Area of square pyramid is,

LSA= \frac{1}{2} * p * l

Where p= perimeter of base

            l=  slant height

Perimeter of base = 4 x side

                            = 4 x 115

                            = 460 feet

Now, Lateral Surface Area of square pyramid is,

= \frac{1}{2} * 460* 90

= 460 x 45

= 20700 ft^{2}

Hence the Lateral Surface Area of square pyramid is 20700 ft^{2}
