Using a magnet? It would collect iron, but not aluminum.

You would use a magnet, this is because the magnet would pick up the iron and not the aluminum.
Magnets attract various metals and alloys, including iron, but not including aluminum, so if you put the magnet above a mixture of iron and aluminum, it will pick up the iron filings and stick to them, but it won't do that to the aluminum, so when you take the magnet away it will drag the iron but not the aluminum.

A hamburger containing 335.4 kcal of energy was combusted in a bomb calorimeter with an unknown heat capacity. The temperature o
Zielflug [23.3K]

Answer:

Cv_{calorimeter}=18.4kcal/K

Explanation:

Hello!

In this case, since the combustion of the hamburger released 335.4 kcal of energy and that energy is received by the calorimeter, we can write:

Q_{hamburguer}=-Q_{calorimeter}

And the heat of the calorimeter is written in terms of the temperature change and the calorimeter constant:

Q_{hamburguer}=-Cv_{calorimeter}\Delta T

Thus, given the released heat by the hamburger due to its combustion and the temperature change, Cv for the calorimeter turns out:

Cv_{calorimeter}=\frac{-Q_{hamburguer}}{\Delta T} =\frac{-(-335.4kcal)}{18.2K}\\\\Cv_{calorimeter}=18.4kcal/K

Best regards!

7.The equation below shows a process that occurs in all green plants.
pychu [463]

Answer:

Ⓓ The process follows the law of conservation of mass and energy is found in the product

Explanation:

This question depicts PHOTOSYNTHESIS, which is the process employed by green plants to manufacture their food in form of sugars (glucose). The general equation, which was given in the question is as follows:

6CO2 + 6H2O + energy → C6H12O6 + 6O2

This chemical reaction follows the LAW OF CONSERVATION OF MASS, which states that the amount of matter in reactant must equate that of the product. In this case, each element contains the same number of atoms in both reactant side and product side.

Also, energy is contained in the product but stored in the chemical bonds of the glucose molecule formed.
