Hunting IS NOT a form of artificial selection because it is not a form of breeding. Artificial selection refers to the intentional breeding of plants or animals. An example would be a thoroughbred racehorses, because they were selectively bred.

Answer:

D). Hunting is a form of negative artificial selection, with the genes that humans want (i.e., the biggest buck or largest fish), being removed from the gene pool, allowing the less wanted genes to pass on to the next generation.

Explanation:

Artificial selection consists of selective crosses, performed by humans, in order to select desirable phenotypic characteristics. In other words, we can say that artificial selection consists in putting desirable characteristics on something in the environment, however, hunting removes characteristics of the environment as a result of death caused by hunting. For this reason, hunting is considered a negative artificial selection.
