McSaw’s Ice Cream makes muffins that cost $.60 each. Past experience shows that 10% of the muffins will become stale and have to

be discarded. Assume McSaw wants a 55% markup based on cost and produces 100 muffins. What should each muffin sell for? Round to nearest cent.

Well, due to that 10% of the muffins get wasted and do not sell,
plus work that goes into it, the price of the ice-cream is  not 0.60,
but 55% more, or markup above that cost value

so... how much would each muffin sell for? well, each muffin will be,
0.60 + 55% of 0.60

how much is 55% of 0.60?
{{ 55}}\%\ of\ 0.60 \implies  \cfrac{{{ 55}}}{100}\cdot 0.60\implies {{ 55}}\div 100\cdot 0.60

get the 55%, and add it to the 0.60, that's how much each will sell for

stira [4]

Given :

Finley makes one batch of orange paint using 5 L of yellow paint.

To Find :

How many batches of orange paint she can make using 15 L of yellow paint.

Solution :

We need to find how many batches of orange paint she can make using 15 L of yellow paint.

Now , 1 batch requires 5 L of yellow paint .

So , 15 L of paint will make 3 batches .

Let , number of batches be N .

N=1 \times\dfrac{15}{5}\ batches\\\\N=3\ batches

Therefore, number of batches produced is 3 .

Hence, this is the required solution .

A 5.1-ft-tall person walks away from a 12-ft lamppost at a constant rate of 3.9 ft/sec. What is the rate that the tip of the per
nekit [7.7K]

Answer:

6.78ft/sec

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question, dx/dt= 3.9 ft/sec

We are looking for Dy/dt

From geometry,vof this case the relationship between x and y is needed here, there is two similar triangle that exhibited by the man and the lamb

12/y= 5.1/(y-x)

Then ,cross multiply, we have

12(y-x)=5.1y

12y-12x=5.1y

12y-5.1y=12x

6.9y=12x

y=( 12/6.9)x

Differentiating implicitly the bother sides with respect to t, we have

Dy/dt= ( 12/6.9)dx/dt

But dx/dt= 3.9 ft/sec

Then Dy/dt= ( 12/6.9)× 3.9

Dy/dt=6.78ft/sec

Hence, the rate that the tip of the person's shadow moves away from the lamppost when the person is 9 ft away from the lampost is 6.78ft/sec

Lesechka [4]

Answer:

A.

Gradient: 4

x-intercept: (1,0)

y-intercept: (0,-4)

B.

Gradient: - 3

x-intercept: (-1,0)

y-intercept: (0,-3)

Line y=5x=40

x-intercept: 8

y-intercept: 40

Step-by-step explanation:

y -5x = 40

x-intercept: 0-5x=40

-5x = 40. x = 40/-5

x = -8

y-intercept: y -0 = 40

y = 40

Simplify sin θ / square root 1 - sin^2 θ
Soloha48 [4]

Recall that

\cos^2\theta+\sin^2\theta=1

which means

\dfrac{\sin\theta}{\sqrt{1-\sin^2\theta}}=\dfrac{\sin\theta}{\sqrt{\cos^2\theta}}

Now, \cos\theta could be positive or negative, which means \sqrt{\cos^2\theta}=|\cos\theta|. If we specifically knew the sign of \cos\theta was positive, then we can simplify and write

\dfrac{\sin\theta}{\sqrt{1-\sin^2\theta}}=\dfrac{\sin\theta}{\cos\theta}=\tan\theta

or if it's negative,

\dfrac{\sin\theta}{\sqrt{1-\sin^2\theta}}=\dfrac{\sin\theta}{-\cos\theta}=-\tan\theta
