These 5 bottles with lemonade which contains 150 millilitres in each bottle so it would be 150 x 5 to find how many millilires there is in all

So far, she used 750mL of the lemonade, that means there is 250 mL left of lemonade. I found the answer by multiplying 150 x 5 = 750 and then, I know that there is 1000 mL in one litre so, I subtracted 750 mL to 1000mL which equalled 250. If you don't understand my explanation please message me.

Simplify the expression using long division. (10x2 – 85x – 10) ÷ (x – 8)
Lelechka [254]

Answer: 5 • (2x2 - 17x - 2)

 ———————————————————

        x - 8

Step-by-step explanation:

Step by step solution :

Step  1  :

Equation at the end of step  1  :

Step  2  :

           10x2 - 85x - 10

Simplify   ———————————————

                x - 8

Step  3  :

Pulling out like terms :

3.1     Pull out like factors :

  10x2 - 85x - 10  =   5 • (2x2 - 17x - 2)

Trying to factor by splitting the middle term

3.2     Factoring  2x2 - 17x - 2

The first term is,  2x2  its coefficient is  2 .

The middle term is,  -17x  its coefficient is  -17 .

The last term, "the constant", is  -2

Step-1 : Multiply the coefficient of the first term by the constant   2 • -2 = -4

Step-2 : Find two factors of  -4  whose sum equals the coefficient of the middle term, which is   -17 .

     -4    +    1    =    -3

     -2    +    2    =    0

     -1    +    4    =    3

Observation : No two such factors can be found !!

Conclusion : Trinomial can not be factored

Given: △ACM, m∠C=90°, CP ⊥ AM . AC:CM=3:4, MP-AP=1. Find AM.
lana [24]

Answer:

AM=\frac{25}{7}

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that AC:CM = 3:4.

Therefore, let AC = 3k and CM = 4k

It is given that Δ ACM is right angled.

Therefore,

AM^{2} =AC^{2} +CM^{2}

=(3k)^{2} +(4k)^{2}

=9k^{2} +16k^{2}

=25k^{2}

AM = 5k

But, AM = MP + AP

Therefore, MP + AP = 5k --- (1)

It is given that MP - AP = 1 --- (2)

Multiply (1) and (2), we get.

(MP + AP)(MP - AP) = 5k × 1 = 5k

MP^{2} -AP^{2} =5k

Add and subtract CP^{2} on the left side.

MP^{2} + CP^{2} - CP^{2} -AP^{2} =5k

(MP^{2} + CP^{2}) - (CP^{2} +AP^{2}) =5k --- (3)

But, since CP ⊥ AM, Δ CMP and Δ CAP are right triangles. Therefore,

MP^{2} +CP^{2} =CM^{2} and

CP^{2} +AP^{2} =AC^{2}

Now, (3) becomes,

CM^{2} -AC^{2} =5k

(4k)^{2} -(3k)^{2} =5k

7k^{2} =5k

7k = 5 or

k=\frac{5}{7}

AM = 5k

=5(\frac{5}{7} )

=\frac{25}{7}
