The value of c is 4 feet for the given triangle it is obtained by law of cosines  formula.

Step-by-step explanation:

The given is,

             Triangular diagram with side dimensions

Step:1

             Law of Cosines formula is,

                                      c^{2}= a^{2}+b^{2}  - 2ab cos C.......................(1)

             From the given diagram,

                                     a = 8 feet

                                     b = 7 feet

                         Angle, C = 32°

           Substitute the values then equation (1) becomes,

                                    c^{2} =8^{2} +7^{2} -2(8)(7) cos 32

                                        = 64+49-2(56)cos32

                                        =113-(112)(cos 32)

           Substitute the value of cos 32°

                                        =113-(112)(0.848)         (∵ cos32=0.848 )

                                        = 113-(94.98)

                                     c^{2} =18.0186

          Take square root on both sides the above equation becomes,

                                      c=\sqrt{18.0186}

                                        =4.244

                                    c  ≅ 4 feet

Result:

          The value of c is 4 feet for the given triangle it is obtained by law of cosines  formula.

Solve the Equations
Vikentia [17]

Answer:

1) -2.13

2) 2.57

3) 33

Step-by-step explanation:

1)

3(8 + 5h) = -28  Distribute the 3

24 + 15h = -28  Subtract 24 from both sides of the equation

15h = -32  Divide both sides by 15 and round

h = - 2.13

2)

19 = 7(3n - 5)  Distribute the 7

19 = 21n - 35  Add 35 to both sides of the equation

54 = 21n  Divide both sides of the equation by 21

2.57 = n

3)

6s - 7s = -33  Combine the s's

-s = -33  Multiply both sides by -1

s = 33

5) Find the equation of the line going through the point (4,1) and<br> perpendicular to y = - 3x +7
vovangra [49]

Answer:

3y=x-1 OR y=⅓x-⅓

Step-by-step explanation:

Lets call the equation y=-3x+7 line l1

the other line passing through (4,1) l2

If two lines are perpendicular,then the product of their roots=-1

That is m(l1)×m(l2)=-1

Slope of l1=-3 therefore slope of l2=-1÷-3=⅓

Now that we have determined the slope of l2 we move on to find it's equation using the point-slope form

y-y1=m(x-x1)

y-1=⅓(x-4)

3y-3=x-4

3y=x-4+3

3y=x-1 OR y=⅓x-⅓
