Health Maintenance Organizations, popularly known as HMOs are a type of insurance which fees are usually paid on a month or yearly basis. Members are limited to medical care that are administered via a selected network of healthcare providers and doctors who are contracted to the HMO. The contracts allow for healthcare to be administered to clients at lower cost than the usual traditional health insurance. However, there are some restrictions peculiar with HMOs.
